nimals have personalities as varied as human personalities. Quite often I’ve run into an individual who, although wary, was more curious about my presence than I was about that animal. During a recent trip to the Tetons, halfway up Death Canyon I tracked a mule deer who disappeared skittishly only to reappear, tracking me out of curiosity. This happened twice before she took off for good. Others of the same species would disappear without hesitation.
